St. Michael’s Presents Society is a registered, not-for-profit charitable society that brings professional classical music concerts to the Cowichan Valley. There are ten concerts every season, on the fourth Sunday of each month, from September to June of the following year. Concerts take place in St. Michael’s and All Angels Church in Chemainus, which is where the society gets its name. Cowichan Consort Orchestra and Choir are enjoying their 25th Season in the Cowichan Valley. This non-profit society gathers weekly to rehearse and presents 3 to 6 concerts each season. The orchestra meets Monday evenings, choir Wednesday evenings, with all rehearsals at Sylvan United Church, Mill Bay. Conductor Robert Mari leads our orchestra and concerts, with aid from our rehearsal choral director, Sue Doughty. Concerts are usually held in Duncan at the Christian Reformed Church. Major choral works with orchestral accompaniment are offered twice a year with additional orchestra only concerts. We welcome new members, especially string players.
